First, the Essentials (while the page is building)

Located in south Tucson at 2500 East Ajo Way, not far from the airport and immediately off the I-10, the Electric Park Show with approximately 260 exhibitors in 128,000 square feet of tents, today is one of the Tucson majors. Among these this is a venue distinguished for its ease of access, its 20 acres of free parking, its long duration, and for the broad scope of the products you'll find here.

A Bit of Background

The Electric Park Show, explains organizer Al Sargent, is a more or less intact relocation of what once was the Congress Street Expo. In that respect it follows a trend: as the shows have grown bigger they have tended to move to more open, less crowded areas. Many of the major tool, machine, and supply companies are here at the Electric Park: Diamond Pacific, the Graves Company, Crystalite, Alpha Supply, Kents Tools, Barranca, and others. They supply tools and display materials to vendors who in turn use them at their own shows: the Electric Park is where the other vendors shop. Hence it's open from the moment "Tucson" starts to the moment it ends. Opening dates for 2010 are January 30 to February 14.

Vendor Variety - a broad spectrum mix

Lapis from Afghanistan, charoite from Russia, labradorite from Magagascar, sculptures from Zimbabwe, Peruvian pyrite, sculptural stone, gemological instruments, gem machines from hobby to industrial scale, ultrasonic drills, jewelry display materials of every description, jewelry tools, acres of beads, finished jewelry, faceting machines and faceting rough, exotic cabochons - you'll find all that and more at the Electric Park Show. It is a broad based show, and consciously kept that way. With the exception of just one wholesale-only vendor, all vendors at the Electric Park are open to the public.
